Energy Code Hotline Available to NYS Building Code Officials

Have a question about the ECCCNYS 2010?  Now you can get your questions answered promptly by a NYS code specialist.  Through funding from NYSERDA and ARRA, Newport Ventures and T.Y. Lin International are operating a hotline.  Take advantage of this service and post your question in one of two ways:

Please note:  The hotline does not replace the NYS DOS as the final authority on interpretations of the code.  Hotline technicians offer clarifications, but consult with DOS regarding all issues of interpretation.

Building Plan Review Services Available in NYS

New York State’s commitment to a goal of 90% compliance with the ECCCNYS 2010 by 2017 has led to a host of opportunities for training and support of all code officials and building professionals regarding provisions of the new code.  In addition to traditional classroom style training, Newport Ventures and partner T. Y. Lin, International are offering plan review assistance to code officials.  In response to a request for assistance with either a residential or commercial project, a code official is sent a pre-paid UPS label for shipping the plans and supporting documentation to T. Y. Lin in Rochester, NY.  A report is usually turned around in 4-5 business days unless the project is quite large or complicated.  If the project is not in compliance with the ECCCNYS based upon the information provided, the report outlines the deficiencies and identifies missing information.
