BUILDER TEAM

Rosewood Home Builders

For over three generations, Rosewood Home Builders located in Latham, NY has been helping individuals, couples and families build a better life. The company's President, Richard G. Rosetti got his start working under the direction of both his grandfather and father learning everything he could about home construction and the pride of craftsmanship. Rich continued his education at Siena College where he earned his bachelor's degree in Business.

The Rosewood high performance home is a four bedroom, 2-story, single-family detached colonial.  Dubbed the “Lexington”, the model has 2,446 square feet of livable space, over an unfinished 1,225 square foot basement.

Rosewood’s typical energy efficiency package includes wood framed studs at 16” on-center with R-19 fiberglass batt insulation, an AFUE 92 furnace, attic trusses at 24” on center with R-30 fiberglass insulation, and R-11 FSK-faced fiberglass blanket at 4’6” for basement wall insulation.  Rosewood’s typical Energy Star package will see substantial improvement within NYSERDA’s challenge.

ROSEWOOD: DETAILS THAT COUNT

These top two pictures highlight the care and attention to details high performance homes need. Prior to installing the insulation, Rosewood sealed all framing penetrations with expanding foam. The spray foam was also used to seal around the duct work as well. This simple, but often overlooked, energy saving strategy prevents unconditioned air inside the wall cavity from finding a pathway into the home.

In order to prevent heated or condition air from escaping the duct system, Rosewood sealed all duct joints.

Sealed Ducts

Rosewood’s high performance home has a layer of rigid insulation installed on the exterior of the home. This is a picture of the home after the exterior insulation has been installed but before the siding was applied. Notice the weather protective tape applied to the seams of the foam around the windows. This is an important measure in protecting the home from moisture damage.
