Newport Ventures is leading efforts on behalf of NYSERDA to provide training and support services to increase compliance with the New York State Energy Conservation Code. Newport is working to develop and deliver training courses on the Energy Code to a variety of audiences while providing plan review assistance services and field inspection training to local code officials.

The main goal of this project is to build a long-term understanding of the new Energy Code to meet the required standards in building design, approved plans, and constructed buildings. This is intended to help the state achieve 90% or better compliance with the new Energy Code in order to meet requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Energy Code Trainings

Energy Code Trainings were conducted all across the state of the New York. The main training topics covered were Residential, Commercial Envelope, Lighting, Building Science, and Basics for New Code Officials.
